Delete Account & Data

You’re always in control of your information in Famant. You can permanently delete your account, or remove all of your personal data, whenever you choose — no hoops, no hard feelings.

This page explains both options, exactly what each one removes, and how to request deletion even if you no longer have the app installed.

01Your right to delete

Famant offers two separate controls. Delete Account permanently closes your account and removes your access to Famant. Delete All Personal Data clears the personal data stored in your account while keeping the account itself. Both are handled in the Famant app and take effect for good once confirmed.

02Delete your account

Deleting your account ends your access to Famant and permanently removes your personal content. To do it from the app:

In the Famant app

Settings → Account → Account & Security → Delete Account

  • Open Famant and go to Settings.
  • Tap Account, then Account & Security.
  • Choose Delete Account and confirm — we’ll ask you to verify it’s really you.

If you’re the organiser of a family, you’ll be guided through handing over or closing the family space before your account is removed, so no one is left without access by surprise.

03Delete all personal data

Prefer to keep your account but wipe your stored personal data? Use the privacy control instead. This permanently removes your personal data in line with this policy and applicable regulations.

In the Famant app

Settings → Account → Privacy Controls → Delete All Personal Data

  • Open Famant and go to Settings.
  • Tap Account, then Privacy Controls.
  • Choose Delete All Personal Data and confirm.

04What is removed

What we delete

  • Your profile and account details (name, email, preferences).
  • Your personal content — events, tasks, lists, notes, and messages you created.
  • Your usage and diagnostic data linked to your account.

What may remain briefly

  • Content shared with a family space may stay visible to remaining members if it belongs to the shared family, not only to you.
  • Limited records we’re legally required to keep — such as transaction or tax records — are retained only as long as the law requires, then deleted.
  • Anonymised data that can no longer identify you may be kept to improve Famant.

Deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. If you’d like a copy of your data first, you can request one before you delete — see Contact, below.

05Request deletion without the app

Don’t have the app installed, or can’t sign in? You can still ask us to delete your account and personal data. Email us from the address associated with your account and we’ll verify your identity and take care of it.

Request by email

Send a request to privacy@famant.com with the subject “Account & Data Deletion Request”. Please send it from the email address on your Famant account so we can confirm it’s you.

06How long it takes

In-app deletions take effect immediately, and your personal data is removed from our active systems without undue delay — and within 30 days at the latest. Backups are cleared on a rolling cycle shortly after. Email requests are actioned as soon as we’ve verified your identity, normally within a few days.
